Acqua Di Mare, Location – Nidri – Lefkada – Greece

Welcome to Nidri

Holidays to Nidri bring you to a lively little town with good-time bars and authentic Greek tavernas. There’s cycling in the nearby Geni peninsula, plus Lefkas Town is only 25 minutes’ drive away.

A short description

Nidri is a lively little town on the east coast of Lefkas island. Its 2 roads run parallel with each other – there’s the bustling main street and the long harbour road. Along the water you’ll find authentic Greek tavernas and international cuisine, while the main street is heaving with cheery bars and late-night clubs. Just north of Nidri there’s a road bridge to the Greek mainland, plus there’s a little cluster of islands just off the coast to explore.

Beach options

Nidri boasts a long stretch of pebbly shoreline – the water is shallow and blue, plus there are little tavernas all along the tree-lined promenade. You can also rent jet-skis and canoes from the watersports centre. From the shore you can see the islands that dot the horizon. The biggest, Meganissi, has secluded little coves that are great for snorkelling. A 20-minute walk north takes you to the pebbly Perigali Beach – a quiet place with sunloungers and umbrellas.

Around nearby small islands

Enjoy a memorable day cruising to some of Lefkas’ most beautiful beaches. Your boat will sail around the island from Nidri – slicing through glass-like waters, passing candy-coloured villages and stopping for swimming and sunbathing along the way. Your first stop is Agofili beach in the south. Cut into steep hills, it’s a vision of white pebbles and crystalline seas. Then snap the dramatic views over Sappho’s Leap, the cliffs where the poet Sappho jumped to her death in 570 BC. From there, it’s on to Porto Katsiki, a cliff-framed beach that’s drop-dead gorgeous. Bathe in its neon blue waters before mooring at nearby Egremni. You’ll have a couple of hours for a picnic and swim at this stunning cove before heading back to Nidri. Bliss.
